Case Example: Program Evaluation
Client: The Education Department of a world-class art museum requested an evaluation of its professional development program on arts integration and critical thinking.
Approach: The SchoolRise team specially tailored a process for evaluating the program. It included questionnaires for instructors, observation of teachers, documentation of teachers’ curriculum units, and evaluation of products by students.
Outcome: As a result of the SchoolRise evaluation, the Education Department and its funders can make informed decisions for professional development programs. A detailed report contained evidence-based recommendations for areas in need of improvement and cited advantages to students of a cohesive program of professional development for their teachers.
