Core Standards Division Offers Workshops

SchoolRise has established a new Core Standards Division, offering workshops on the Common Core State Standards in literacy and math. Workshops are available to schools across the United States. Workshop schedules and activities are based on successful pilots conducted in Hawaii and Illinois.

Three New Schools in Hawaii

Honowai, Lehua, and Manana elementary schools have joined the SchoolRise, Hawaii Division family. Needs assessments are being coordinated by consultants Carm Minami, Elsie Tanaka, and Joey Inatsuka. Two schools are focusing on writing, one on math.

Help for Secondary Schools

Mon., 10/21/11

Gayle Ishikawa is a new consultant for secondary schools in the SchoolRise, Hawaii Division. She is a former resource teacher, department head, and classroom teacher with expertise in special education. Ishikawa will be the lead consultant for three large Hawaii high schools: Kapolei, Pearl City, and Waipahu.
