Level 1 - Recognize a need
Focus: Leadership training
Level 2 - Organize for change
Focus: Leadership and infrastructure, knowledge building
Level 3 – Work on the building blocks
Focus: Infrastructure, knowledge
building, To Do Cycle school philosophy and vision
Level 4 – Move as a whole school
Focus: To Do Cycle benchmarks, monitoring system, evidence-based teaching
Level 5 – Share results with the learning community
Focus: Enacting the To Do Cycle for school¬wide decision making
Level 6 – Implement the staircase curriculum
Focus: Teacher-developed curriculum guides and their use
Level 7 – Engage students and families
Focus: Portfolios, student self¬-assessment and goal setting
How the road map works
- A SchoolRise Needs Assessment determines your school’s starting level.
- Your SchoolRise team recommends next steps, to be completed within a year.
- Our goal is to bring your school to Level 6, the point at which higher student achievement is sustained.
- Some schools that reach Level 6 decide to move on to a new subject area.
- Others continue to Level 7 before moving to a new area.
